I’ve been watching a lot of my friends be asshats lately over silly issues. It’s amazing to me how people don’t think an apology is worth even attempting anymore.
Here are a series of repeatable sentences to help.
“I’m sorry.”
“We’re Sorry.”
“I or my group did/said something that probably wasn’t well thought out. I’m sorry if it hurt you.”
Are these really that complicated? The only thing I can think of that would cause people to not even contemplate such things is that they’re too bull headed to believe that they’re at least partially responsible for their own actions. Even if a reaction to another’s actions you CHOSE to take that action.
On the flip side of this. When some one apologizes to you. it’s frustrating that you won’t accept the apology.
This is silly shit that you all are creating. You should remember why you were friends in the first place. That person is still there.
There are two sad things about this. i’m writing this not about 1 group of people, not 2 but 3 freaking groups. Which is why it’s in generalities.
The other thing is that 5 of the six groups are going to read this and not think I’m talking to them. But since none of it is directly related to me I’m keeping my nose out of it and just telling them I don’t want to hear about it anymore.
